Beauty Round-Up: My top summer beauty essentials

My top beauty essentials which have seen me through Singapore’s long summer

I realise that my beauty round up for June/July has been pretty delayed (sorry!) Anyway, over the past two months, the hot summer weather has descended on Singapore, and I thought I’d share my TOP summer beauty skincare & make-up products! A couple of these are new additions, but there are few I’ve used religiously for a good couple of years. Enjoy!

MY SKINCARE ESSENTIALS (from left to right!)

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse

I’ve always been a fan of oils but this one was a new addition. I know I’ve already featured it in a previous beauty round-up but I just had to mention it again because I LOVE this product. It smells amazing, moisturises, and gives a dewy glow to the skin which looks beautiful on a night out. I’ve also used it (in small quantities) on my hair.

Garnier Ambre Solaire Golden Protect SPF 30

I’m not sure you can purchase this in Singapore, and I certainly don’t remember seeing it around, but this product is 100% my most favourite suncream ever. As someone who loves to sunbathe, its really important that I use a good factor on my skin and I prefer creams to spray oils. The Golden Protect formula contains shimmery particles which make your skin so glowy – sometimes I like to even apply it in the evening to enhance my holiday glow.

Soap & Glory Heel Genius Foot Cream

Yes, I’ve also mentioned this product before but its a must-try. It gave me new feet! Apply it overnight (wear some foot socks for an extra intensive treatment) and you’ll wake up to the softest feet ever. I love using this to finish off a home pedicure session.

Olay Nourishing Beauty Fluid

I grew up with the smell of Olay moisturiser as it was a product my mum always used. The smell is quite distinct (as anyone who has used Olay products will know) and the smell isn’t for everyone, but I personally love it. The light cream moisturiser clarifies my skin and absorbs quickly.

Chanel Chance Perfume
Ok, so this isn’t exactly a skincare product but I felt it worth a mention. Chanel Chance is one of the first perfumes I ever bought, and just one of those perfumes I keep returning to. The scent is a floral combination of Vanilla, White Musk and Jasmine. My perfect fragrance all year round!

MAKE-UP ESSENTIALS (from left to right!)

Bare Minerals Foundation

For Summer, I love this mineral foundation because it provides coverage yet feels so light on the skin, and doesn’t leave a dull finish like most foundations. Also, it doesn’t mask a good tan!

L’OREAL Elnett Satin Hairspray (Mini)

During the summer months, I always keep this cute mini hairspray in my handbag for last minute touch ups & to calm crazy frizz moments.

O.P.I Nail Lacquer in Tickle My France-y

When it comes to my nails I prefer a classic look, and whilst my wardrobe often gets a bit more colourful in the Summer, I prefer to opt for a neutral colour that will go with everything. Tickle My France-y by O.P.I is the best nude shade I’ve found so far.

SLEEK Face & Body Highlighter in Peach Shimmer

This bronzer gives skin a great summer glow and is perfect for highlighting. I grabbed mine from (Singapore), but you can find SLEEK make-up products in most Superdrug stores (London).

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream

This has been my go-to BB cream for the past three years and counting! Available in a couple of shades (I alternate between Light & Medium) the cream provides good, buildable coverage and covers any blemishes in a flash. For day to night make-up, I’ll usually just wear this, apply Revlon ColourStay concealer where necessary, blusher, L’OREAL pressed powder and I’m good to go.

The Body Shop Chocomania Lip Butter

This lip balm just smells good enough to eat! I’m a fan of anything with cocoa butter, and always used The Body Shop’s moisturisers. When they bought out the Chocomania range a few years back, I went and bought a few products straight away. Hydration with a chocolate flavour? Always a good idea!

What are your Summer Beauty Essentials? Feel free to share below!

Love your summer picks! I agree with the Olay smell, as with Garnier, they have their distinct smell. But if I had to pick, I'd choose the Garnier smell over the Olay one honestly 😛

Thanks CJ! Yes, I definitely think the Garnier smell is more summery – I think for me the OLAY smell has sentimental value and is quite comforting! x

Did you buy the Garnier cream here in Singapore?

Hey Amy – no the Garnier cream was bought from England, but they have the same here (think it has new packaging – can buy in most Watsons)
